4:10 - 4:30 School Improvement Plan

AYP chart - Federal Adequate Yearly Progress

Who didn't make AYP? Many ESL students. How are we targeting these students? Title 1 funds go for aids that will help these students and all other students as well. We will also be implementing Guided Reading and Guided Math. We have a plan to help the students be separated into their academic level so they can have a better opportunity to grow.

4:20 Sarah Ann Delaney had to leave.

4:30 Delores Droesbeke had to leave.

4:30 Holly Fjeldsted and Ivy Foster are concerned about the new common core and homework. After discussion we have been informed that all children will be targeted for growth from year to year.

4:35 We discussed Imagine Learning. A vocabulary building program to help the kids who didn't meet gains on the AYP. With a planned extended time at 8:30 AM for these students. Possible use of older students to mentor them with reading.

Multi-Flow Map

  • Identify Cause & Effect

  • Goals: Literacy, Numeracy, ESL

4:40 Facilities

We looked over the overall rating of our building and the proposed budget to repair and upgrade Wilson Elementary. Possible plan to move the parent pickup to 400 East and take out part of the playground to make a circle drive. This should help with congestion of vehicles and the safety of students.

4:45 Bus System and Route Safety for students... is there a way to get money for the kids to not have to pay as much to ride the bus if they are not far away? Possibly a bake sale or another type of fundraiser?

4:50 Meeting Times and Days

Meetings Thursdays at 3:45. Next meeting October 13th.

From now on we will record all meetings. We are gathering a recorder.
